Mchenja Bushcamp

Set on the banks of the Luangwa River and surrounded by ebony trees is the seasonal Mchenja Bush Camp (Norman Carr Safaris), perhaps one of the most romantic camps in Africa. It is situated in an area bursting with wildlife and is the ideal location for game viewing. The camp boasts safari chic and is very comfortable. As a luxury bush camp, Mchenja is the perfect destination to complete a walking safari that has combined stays at a number of other Norman Carr Safaris camps.

The camp features 5 en-suite tents with bathrooms that are open air and provide wonderful river views. Bathrooms feature a shower with hot and cold water, a flush toilet, Victorian style bath and hand-basin in the corner. Guiding is particularly good at the camp, with the camp manager, Levy Banda, having trained under renowned conservationist Norman Carr himself.

Guests can relax when not out on walking safaris and enjoying activities with the camp's plunge pool, providing a cooling break from the midday sun. Lunch is taken in the camp lounge, which is built around an old ebony tree, while dinner can take place under the stars on the riverbank.
