The epitome of bush chic, Sausage Tree Camp is set in a stunning location along the Zambezi River, at the heart of the Lower Zambezi National Park. In this pristine location the camp offers all the game, all the luxury but without all the people! This exclusive safari camp, voted number one on the BBC's Ten Best Luxury Destinations programme, offers only the very highest international standards in luxury and service.
Sausage Tree Camp offers 8 luxurious white Bedouin style tents with white canvas roofs and reed walls each with private open-air bathrooms, with running hot and cold water and flush "loos with views". The 2 honeymoon suites offer arguably the most luxurious accommodation on the Zambezi. There is also one large family two-bedroom house known as Kigelia House.
The camp's lounge and dining area is also a Bedouin tent with open sides to really enhance the views of the river and wooden decks reaching almost to the river bank. It is here that you will find a small library, dining room table and bar. Pre-dinner drinks under the stars are had around the camp's fire pit in front of the bar. Top notch cuisine is served in the dining room, on the outside deck or in surprising locations. The swimming pool provides a welcome relief from the heat of the day as well as fantastic views of the river.
30 minute flight to "Jeki" airstrip from Lusaka and 1 hr 45 min flight from Livingstone, followed by a 1 hour game-drive/transfer through the park to the camp. Or a 2 hr 30 min drive to Chirundu and 2 hr 30 min speed boat down the Zambezi.
Game-drives (both day and night), walking safaris, canoeing, boating and fishing for the world-renowned "Tiger fish".
