The River Club

The River Club is situated on a magnificent bend on the Zambezi River, 18km upstream from the world-famous Victoria Falls. The River Club seems to straddle the continents of Africa and Europe, with its Edwardian-style house and manicured lawns on the banks of the swift-flowing Zambezi River where hippo and crocodile float.

The River Club offers 11 luxury suites, each with floor to ceiling glass doors looking out over the mighty Zambezi River. All the suites looks west into glorious African sunsets and the hippo pods often found in the river. For a more private and luxurious experience, 3 suites offer a private deck and plunge pool and, for a bit of romance in the evening, private dinners are served poolside and riverside.

Originally a 1940's homestead, the River Club's main area is a restored residence complete with comfortable lounge, large dining room, impressive library and wide veranda where breakfasts and teas are enjoyed. The highlight of The River Club is its infinity swimming pool, providing incredible sunset and river views that rival the room views. Lush gardens spread out beneath the tree canopies, where guests can enjoy an open air lunchtime.

Health and wellness are also featured at The River Club. The property offers a track, gymnasium and tennis courts, as well as spa treatments for guests looking to unwind after a long day of activities and excursions. Tours, fishing and cruises are available, in addition to gameatching. For the more daring guests, nearby activities are not for the faint of heart. White water rafting, bungee jumping and abseiling are just some of the thrilling possibilities.

In addition to romance and adventure, The River Club is always happy to welcome families. Of the eleven suites, the Club has one two bedroom villa, which the perfect offering for families. Children receive a 'Kids at the Club' kit on arrival, complete with an activity checklist and an insect kit for their enjoyment and learning.

Getting There

The River Club is approximately a 15 - 25 minute road transfer from Livingstone and an approximate 1h30 minute road transfer from Kasane in Botswana.

Activities

Sundowner cruises and visits to Victoria Falls, Simonga Village, local markets and Livingstone town. Game drives are also offered into the nearby Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. Other activities include tiger fishing, white water rafting, bungee jumping, abseiling, canoeing, and flights over the Falls. Some may incur additional cost.
