We were only here 2 nights and just did bed and breakfast, but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Wilderness safaris who we did the activities with were very efficient, and we particularly enjoyed the elephant ride.

Comfortable hotel very near the falls ( could hear then from the bedroom) Service was good but we were charged for breakfast which we thought was inclusive. My only negative comments here and it is not to do with the hotel, was to do with the constant barrage of locals trying to sell (push) carvings, jewellery old bank notes, in fact almost anything and not taking NO! for an answer, has put me right off visiting Victoria Falls ever again. This was a feeling that a good few other guest at Ilala and other accommodation in the area expressed.

The lodge itself is very elegant and well positioned- the Falls are at a short walk distance. The fact that they had a restaurant where to have dinner was great, and the service during dinner was excellent. High quality of food, and very quick and nice staff. On the contrary the service at breakfast and lunch was pretty poor (I had to wait for one hour for a toasted sandwich). Another good point is the activity office in the hotel, where we could book everything, from the sun-downer cruise to the helicopter ride.

The rooms were very pleasant and the staff was friendly, but we should have taken Greg's suggestion and stayed at The Victoria Falls Hotel instead. I thought that having just come from ten days in the bush that being at VFH would feel very stuffy, which it probably would have, but the location and views are so spectacular that it's the choice if you are staying at a high end location in Victoria Falls.
