Had its best days some years ago. We can see that they try to keep the hotel to its former glory. Taps not working very well, but it was nice to be in the atmosphere of 100 years ago. Should watch Sherlock Holmes in Victoria Falls....

Victoria Falls Hotel...... What can I say? A pure pleasure indeed! One of the best hotels ever. The upgrade to the Stable wing well worth it. The breakfast served by the pool, overlooking the Falls..... I wish I was back there. The food was amazing, the service excellent and the grounds brilliant! One of those Old Style Colonial Hotels that should be preserved for ever.

This to my wife and I was "the icing on the cake". The accommodation was splendid and the facilities exceptional. The fine dining in Livingstone's restaurant was a culinary delight and the tribal entertainment at Jungle Junction while we ate dinner was mesmerising. We had all our meals in the hotel during our stay and what really surprised me was how reasonable the prices were considering the luxuriousness of our surroundings. The hotel offers all sorts of activities in the surrounding area and your preferred supplier Wilderness Safaris has a desk in the hotel's main foyer which makes it easy to book trips. I must mention the Sundowner excursion that Nikki Hare arranged as part of our trip which took place on the most luxurious boat on the Zambesi river and which was fitted out in colonial style. A fitting way to spent the last night of our memorable trip to Africa.

Could not fault this place if we tried. Everything was perfect, our room was lovely with flowers and champagne waiting for our arrival. Although it did not need it our room was cleaned everyday, when we went out for dinner our mosquito nets and bed covers were pulled back with chocolates on our pillows. Staff were so welcoming and friendly.

Old colonial style hotel with all modern facilities. Lovely restaurant. Comfortable lounges, the terrace food was value for money and the breakfasts in the Trading Post which was a hundred yards walk through the lawned gardens were delicious.

Lovely old colonial style.Public areas beautifully furnished. Bedroom had a fantastic outlook to the bridge however the decor/furnishings in the room/en suite looked rather tired. eg. very frayed curtains.it did not stop us enjoying this unique hotel in a stunning setting.

Could not fault the hotel or location - A definite return would be on the cards for a future visit however, I would hope that the accommodation we had (Room 129) would be of a better standard. The bathroom had seen better days and a sliding door to the bathroom which hinged at the top was not what I would have expected from a hotel of this calibre. The manage did at one point when introducing herself state that this room was one of the best, I beg to differ having seen other rooms when walking by when the doors were left open. Scored good for the reason only of the room but otherwise excellent for the hotel overall and the location.

The Victoria Falls Hotel was lovely. We enjoyed the colonial old world charm. Our room (237) was perfect, very spacious with a huge comfy bed, large sitting area and all the things needed such as hair dryer etc. The service was excellent, staff were friendly and polite. The restaurants were good, breakfast was plentiful, we enjoyed high tea on the Terrace and a lovely seven course tasting menu with matching wine in the Livingstone Room for dinner. The only fault we found with the hotel was that they don't ever seem to have change if you pay in cash, however small a note you use. This is not a problem if everything is put on your room account and seems to be more a symptom of the Zimbabwe as a country than the hotel specifically.
