Found in the impressive Mana Pools National Park, home to a number of large game, including a healthy elephant population, Zambezi Expeditions Safari Camp is set on the banks of the Zambezi River and is an excellent base from which to explore the surrounding area. As a semi-permanent camp, Zambezi Expeditions is dismantled after the safari season in Mana Pools is over, leaving a lower footprint on the environment.
Pervading the camp there is a distinctive colonial charm, which will appeal to anyone searching for an old world safari experience. Guests should expect 6 meru-style tents with twin-beds possessing en-suite facilities. Bathrooms include a flush toilet and an outdoor bucket shower. Accommodation lends to an authentic tented experience with classic furnishings. The main area of the camp provides battery charging facilities along with a dining and lounge area.
Activities at camp revolve around the water; guests can canoe along the river channels and enjoy amazing game viewing, with elephant making frequent river crossings and an abundance of hippo lining the river banks. Game drives and walking safaris from the camp present the chance to get closer to all of the big cats, with lion, leopard and cheetah able to be observed, while rarer animals such as the Africa wild dog can also be spotted.
