Liane first visited Africa on a windsurfing trip to Cape Town in her carefree twenties, before returning on her honeymoon to Botswana for her first safari experience which truly ignited a love for the African wilderness and wildlife. Over the past decade, she has tested out numerous trips with her husband and two kids, who are now also fully subscribed members of the 'Mahla-Tini' club.

Most Memorable Trip

Experiencing your favorite places with your favorite people is surely what life is all about. Taking our kids on a road trip around South Africa when they were only toddlers was adventurous but so rewarding. Everywhere we went, the kids were treated like mini-VIPs and it was thrilling to revisit some of our favorite spots and see them afresh through their eyes - the penguins at Boulders Beach, the cable car ride up Table Mountain and of course their excitement at spotting the big cats on safari.

Top Of My Bucket-List

I’m fascinated by the other-worldly feel and vast expanses of Namibia and her dramatic landscapes that look so distinct from the other African destinations I’ve explored. I would love to stay at Sossusvlei Desert Lodge and soak up that endless vista of red dunes and rocky outcrops by day…and those spectacular starry-filled skies by night.

Liane's personal commitment to sustainability aligns with Mahaltini's fight toward a greener planet. In 2023, she took part in essential training provided by Business in the Community and met all the requirements of the Carbon Literacy Standard.
