Victoria Falls, one of the 7 natural wonders of the world, is a mile-wide gorge where the formidable Zambezi River roars over a ledge and drops 400 feet to the valley floor below. Victoria Falls itself can be viewed from both Zambia and Zimbabwe and the falls are part of two national parks, Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park in Zambia and Victoria Falls National Park in Zimbabwe. The Falls are the star of the area, but with a wealth of adventurous activities, cultural experiences and indulgent accommodation, Victoria Falls is a truly diverse and iconic bucket-list destination.

How was Victoria Falls formed?
It is theorized that movement of the earth from an early geological period diverted the upper part of the Zambezi River, forcing the water to change direction. The force of the river gradually eroded the bedrock, cutting through it and creating a waterfall.
