Shipwreck Lodge is located in the Skeleton Coast concession between the Hoarusib and Hoanib rivers in the Skeleton Coast National Park. The 8 double and 2 family cabins are shipwreck-shaped and nestled between the dunes with a view of the Atlantic Ocean. The lodge's design is inspired by the many ships that have been wrecked on the Skeleton Coast.
The camp’s central area features an innovatively designed lounge and restaurant with a wide, wraparound deck and uninterrupted views across the sand all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. From Shipwreck Lodge you can take day excursions to the Mowe Bay seal colony with stops at the Suiderkus and Karimona shipwrecks, Westies Diamond Mine and the remains of the Ventura Bomber. There’s also the chance to enjoy quad biking and sand boarding across the dunes and 4x4 drives along the Hoarusib River to spot the unique desert-adapted wildlife.
