“A visit to Victoria Falls and the area was great! I wish we had known it was not possible to get cash out anywhere in Zimbabwe. We knew they used USD, but was unaware we could not take out additional dollars.”

“Grootbos was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. The accommodations, food, staff and activities were outstanding.”
Chitwa Chitwa Private Game Lodge
“We noticed almost everyone had rolling luggage for the small planes - this was frustrating for us as we were lugging our non rolling luggage for the entire trip based on your guidance. It does not seem like this is a huge issue (or was not on our flights). Please also reinforce to folks to get RAND at the ATMS before going to Chitwa Chitwa. We forgot to do so and there is no way to get CASH otherwise. We so appreciated the small flights though vs driving - they were fun and key! Chitwa Chitwa was great - they were redoing their main area so we did not have access to it for a few days. They also had no water on our last day which was pretty inconvenient for us as we could not shower before we left. We loved our guide which made Chitwa Chitwa - his name is Surprise. We also went into town to visit the kids but found out when we got there that they were all on a field trip for 2 weeks (the staff was unaware)”
The Elephant Camp
“They remodeled the main camp just in time for us- we ended up being the first to use the new redone tents. We really enjoyed them and the staff was great. Just FYI- they thought initially we were only there for 2 nights but when we showed them voucher they realized they had made a mistake. You should know that the Lookout Cafe mentioned in the vouchers burned down in December and Sylvester the cheetah passed away due to an attack from a leopard. The money situation in Zimbabwe also needs to be mentioned. There is no way to get additional $$ out of ATM's in that country at this point. We were told there is a cash shortage. Credit card machines also are sporadic so I'd recommend you tell folks to bring a decent amount of Rand/US cash if they want to shop in the local markets or tip folks. One other quick note- at the border of Zambia/Zimbabwe we switched cars with someone from Elephant Camp - we were not expecting to do so (thought we would be dropped off from transfer at airport) so was a little confusion initially.”
