Holiday to United Arab Emirates & Maldives

Claire has outdone herself again! Our anniversary trip was supposed to happen in December, 2020 but we had to postpone due to Covid. Claire helped reschedule everything and made things as stress free as possible. We were so very excited when December 2021 rolled around and we were actually able to go! Our time in Dubai was short - too short - but jam packed full of exciting adventures. We started with a helicopter tour which gave us a birds eye view of the beautiful city. That evening, we went into the desert for a safari and bbq. I did not anticipate the "exciting" safari to be quite as nail biting as it was - racing through the desert, over dunes and generally trying not to get motion sick! But the dinner and entertainment was well worth it. The next day we went on a beautiful city tour. I do not recall the name of our guide but he was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions about the city and culture. Going to the top of the Burj Khalifa was most definitely a highlight of our stay. The next morning we were off to Male and our first ever sea landing at LUX. What a rush! Our stay was simply amazing. It took us a few days to get used to "island time" and really relax. Had a few hiccups with tour and spa times but our concierge, Rita, was very helpful getting us organized. The various restaurants were fantastic and the different pop ups were a treat - especially the Burger Bar. Delish! We stayed in an over the water bungalow with a pool. Although there was a lot of walking involved, the view from our deck was gorgeous. Our time at LUX came to an end too quickly but we are so thankful for the wonderful memories.
