Holiday to Botswana & Zambia
Bruce Stroup, 9th July 2022Incredible trip. Exceeded our expectations. Donna, the order of lodges you recommended was perfect. Also, your suggestion to do a cruise/game drive in the evening and morning was spot on. Each was a unique experience. Thorntree was the perfect way to end our holiday. A special thanks to Ashton. He took us through the Zambian customs. Eliminated a huge delay. Plus he gave an outstanding Zambian history lesson.

Chobe Safari Lodge
“Daniel was very helpful. The sunset cruise was super. So many elephants and hippos. Saw one herd of elephants cross the river channel to the mainland. Had an amazing dinner at the Chobe Bush Lodge. The grilled croc tail was superb. During the evening game drive we saw many giraffes and a beautiful sunset on a high bluff overlooking the Chobe River. Our guide Gee, ensured we had great pictures. He also met us on our return and drove us to the Zambian border.”

“An enthusiastic staff greeting. Outstanding meals and wine selections. Our guide Action and tracker Rodney were awesome. They shared their knowledge of the animals and vegetation. Our highlight was seeing a leopard and her cub up close. Great location on a main channel of the Okavaldi. Nothing like having an elephant standing next to your deck. Saw many hippos, kudos, zebras and of course impalas.”

“So different from Moremi. An abundance of elephants, giraffes and water buffalo. Viewing a lion pride was our highlight. Watching the entire pride interacting, the cubs were so cute, and following them on a hunt...wow. The staff provided a dinner under the stars for the four of us. NP pointed out the Southern Cross and other constellations. A celebratory cake for dessert with champagne was a total surprise.”
Thorntree River Lodge
“From Bush camps to a luxurious lodge overlooking the Zambezi. Met with warm wash clothes, a beverage and massage. Awesome room we had to guard from the monkeys. Relaxing sunset cruise with Brett. Incredible service and meals, including a Zambian dinner. Yes, we ate mopane worms. Bret rearranged our itinerary so we did everything we wanted. The rhino trek was special. So glad they weren't in an enclosure. Victoria Falls was better than advertised. The walking tour was impressive. So many rainbows. Glad we had ponchos! Angel's Pool on Livingstone Island was an undesirable experience. Flying over the Falls revealed how massive and powerful they are.”
