vacation to Kenya & Tanzania
Kathleen Jacob, 5th June 2023This was the only trip that we have ever cried when we left! It was amazing from beginning to end! We kept calling it a “once-in-a-lifetime trip”, but after experiencing it, we know that cannot be the case! We will absolutely be back and will be using Mahlatini to book again. We appreciated the attention to detail and how easy Natasha made tough international travel! It was the perfect combination of adventure and luxury!

Hemingways Nairobi
“Hemingways was gorgeous and the staff were so kind! They made it easy to book a trip into town and always made sure we were comfortable! We also loved the sweet honeymoon champagne gift! The only mishap was that the air conditioning and fan in our room did not work so they had to bring a standing fan in. Everything else was wonderful!”
Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp
“If we could give Kichwa Tembo an infinite amount of stars we would! Our guide, Ken, was AMAZING. He took the time to find everything we possibly could have wanted when it came to wildlife spotting! He was also so knowledgeable and could answer every (often times off-the-wall) question we could come up with! We had two other honeymooning couples in our vehicle and he made sure every single one of us was blown out of the water! (Not to mention… he pours a nice strong sundowner!) When it comes to the camp itself, we were blown away! Peter was our room attendant and he left us sweet notes with turndown service every night and greeted us with tea during our wake-up calls in the morning! We also loved the champagne surprise for our honeymoon! The tent was so comfortable and had everything we could possibly need. The camp itself was just beautiful. You can’t beat sitting by the pool, sipping a Dawa while looking out over the Mara… all while warthogs and monkeys walk right by you! Zippy was the waitress assigned to us and she was so wonderful! She kept us cracking up with jokes and would answer all of our questions about food and drinks (which were AMAZING.) She even set up a small romantic honeymoon dinner for us on our last night that was just so beautiful! The entire staff was so kind and fun to talk to from the bartenders, the chefs, the housekeepers, the security, and even the shopkeeper! We did not meet a person we didn’t automatically love! When Zippy and her team sang goodbye, both of us could not contain our tears. It was the most memorable experience!”
Baraza Resort and Spa
“Baraza was breathtaking! We loved staying at a place that really brought the Arabic parts of Zanzibar alive. Our room was incredible. From the plunge pool to the gorgeous tub, to the Sultan’s bed - we were so blown away! We also loved being surprised with a bottle of champagne, a beautiful handmade jewelry box gift, and complimentary massages scheduled for us! I proceeded to book a couple more treatments because the spa was SO amazing! The beach was beautiful and felt so private! The service was wonderful and the food was out of this world! The meals were what we looked forward to most each day! We loved how things differed each night… from a spice night, to a Swahili night, to nights with fixed course menus… to a private poolside dinner they surprised us with one night… everything was just so incredible! (We immediately bought a cookbook from Zanzibar to attempt to replicate the flavors back in the States!) The entertainment at dinner each night was incredible. We also loved the activities they planned at the resort daily (like a sugarcane cocktail making lesson, Swahili lessons, and even a beach bonfire party on our last night!) We also really appreciated that we had access to the resort all day when we checked out (considering we had a late flight!) All of those little touches were just incredible.”

“Natasha was wonderful! She was always so kind and cheerful when we spoke and she really took the time to make sure she planned the perfect trip for us. We wanted a mix of adventure and relaxation… as well as a couple of nights in Nairobi to experience the city! She delivered on all fronts! We also really appreciated her making sure we were prepared ahead of the trip with all of our documents, medical requirements, packing instructions, and even tipping guidelines! Being able to facilitate all of the little honeymoon treats at each location was an added bonus! She also helped get us booked for a hot air balloon safari at the last minute and we were incredibly grateful! We appreciate her picking environmentally friendly resorts/locations - as that is something we really value! She was a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process and we would love to work with her again!”
