vacation to South Africa
Kelsea Schreiner, 14th October 2023Mahlatini prepared such a wonderful trip for our family. I wouldn't have done anything differently. South Africa is truly a wonderfully diverse country and we felt welcomed as a family. Our kids loved the city (Cape Town) as well as venturing out into the bush for safari. We loved every minute of our trip. Thank you Stuart at Mahlatini for preparing such a well-crafted adventure!

African Elite Waterfront Apartments
“This was my husband's favorite location and we felt very safe right within the city. We walked everywhere and had access to lovely restaurants, shopping and coffee shops. The housekeeping was good and we had access to laundry. We did do a quick grocery trip and were able to make early morning breakfast and afternoon drinks.”
Boschendal
“We loved this area and spent lots of time doing activities - the kids enjoyed the tree house and we did a family picnic. The more casual restaurant had delicious food and drinks. I do note that the restaurant service was a bit aloof and we felt at times we were inconveniencing them by being there. The house was gorgeous and there was a welcome basket filled with goodies that we had fun picking through.”
Robberg Beach Lodge
“We stayed here 3 nights and had a suite. It was well-appointed and we had breakfast and dinner at the location a couple of times. I think Plettenberg Bay was more of a 2-day stay so we did get a little bored (the weather also did not cooperate) but the pool was fun and the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. We used our stay here to rest, watch movies, do whale watching from our balcony and eat wood-fired pizza. I would highly recommend this beach lodge.”
Amakhala Hlosi Game Lodge
“We stayed in the 2-bedroom accommodation. It was a beautiful, high-ceiling lodge. The staff here were wonderful and our boys loved them all. They had lots of kids services that allowed the kids to play whilst we went on safari and the lodge accommodated us by booking a private safari vehicle to take our family of four out and enjoy the game reserve. My only consideration was the bugs. We also live in a more remote area so we are familiar with bug guests but I was admittedly a bit shocked at the spiders inside our lodge, in the shower and tub and one night I was bombarded with only what I could assume were termites. The lodge had spray and of course, managed pests but I was more scared of them than I realized. Storm doors on the beautiful sliding doors would surely help! Overall we thought this lodge was the ultimate safari experience and simply loved it.”
