“A great tourist destination. They really know how to look after tourists and make sure you stay is as trouble free and comfortable as possible. I was expecting everything to be very cheap in cost compared to rip off Ireland but found it to be reasonable for eating out especially when away from Cape Town.”

Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront

“We found this hotel to be great. When we arrived at the airport we were met by the Avis driver who was very friendly and informative about Cape Town. He brought us to the hotel where we found the reception staff to be very friendly and efficient. We upgraded to a sea view room which was a fantastic room. We would definitely stay there again.”

La Plume Boutique Guest House

“This was actually Hlangana as La Plume was double booked.
When we got there we were booked into a superior room. The wireless internet did not work in the room so we inquired and were told it didn’t work in them rooms but did work in the ordinary rooms. We asked if we could move and they did move us. The only difference we saw, between a normal room and a superior room is that in the superior room the toilet is separate, the safe is a little bit more sophisticated but the internet doesn’t work. The staff were courteous but not as friendly as in other places we visited. It wasn’t bad but I would probably try somewhere else before going back here.”

Abalone Guest Lodge

“Lovely guest house, fantastic location for watching the whales. The town has great restaurants with prices a lot more reasonable than Cape Town. The staff here we very helpful and friendly. We would definitely go back.”

“The safari was interesting but we only managed the early morning trip once. The accommodation was great and the food good. We did have a man knocking on the door in the early hours of the morning. I did at first think it was the ranger but saw when I went to the door it wasn’t. He asked for me to contact security so I phoned and got through to the manager, who came out and took the man away. He apologised but we never got a reason as to why he was there in the middle of nowhere. I did enquire but no one came back to me so we slept with the fire poker by the bed for the rest of the stay. We would stay there again if we wanted to go on safari.”

“This place was the best hotel we stayed in. The service is ten star, we could find fault at all. When we arrived we had a bottle of sparkling wine waiting in our room as we were on honeymoon which was such a nice touch. There is no TV or internet in the rooms which surprisingly didn’t bother us and the only problem was that we only stayed one night here. If we were to go back to South Africa again we would stay there for a much longer period.”
