In Akagera's open plains, woodlands, lakes, swamps and grassy low mountains you will find an abundance of plains game including the rare sitatunga. Akagera National Park also boasts one of Africa's highest hippo densities, some very large crocodiles and more than 520 bird species.
The camp offers 6 spacious, airy tents with uninterrupted views over Lake Rwanyakazinga. The main area includes a luxurious lounge, dining and bar area, pool and expansive viewing deck with a cozy fire pit. The architecture and interiors take inspiration from traditional Rwandan culture. Magashi offers the ideal opportunity to combine an extraordinary gorilla experience at Volcanoes National Park with a spectacular savannah safari at Akagera. In addition to this, there's the prospect of viewing chimps and other primates in the forests of western Rwanda, offering a complete standalone safari experience.
