Lake Natron Camp is a unique, ecological camp, suited to true adventurers who seek out the world’s last great natural environments. It offers some of East Africa’s best hikes, as well as the chance to see millions of Lesser Flamingo on Lake Natron. You will also experience the only active carbonatite volcano in the world and walk amongst hominid footprints left in the mud between 5,000 and 19,000 years ago.
The camp offers 10 Bedouin-style tents with 360° views of the striking landscape. On a clear day you'll see the lake, where hundreds of thousands of flamingos come to breed, Ol Doinyo Lengai, the Mountain of God, as well as the Great Rift Valley, the Ngorongoro Crater and even Kilimanjaro. Each tent has a porch area, main bedroom, and en-suite bathroom with a shower and eco toilet. A private path leads from each tent to the natural swimming pool in the spring-fed stream. During your stay, you will be hosted by staff from the local Maasai village. The camp strives to empower, educate, and employ the local Maasai community.
