Located on the Zambezi River, Lake Kariba is the world's largest artificial lake and reservoir. The lake is home to a rich ecology, hosting a number of fish species including sardine-like kapenta and game fish such as tigerfish. The lake's other inhabitants include Nile crocodiles, hippos, impressive elephant populations on the lake shore and an abundance of water birds including fish eagles and cormorants.
