Madikwe Hills Private Game Lodge is a luxury lodge set in South Africa’s malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve. Madikwe Game Reserve is not only home to the Big 5 (buffalo, lion, elephant, rhino, and leopard) but to many other species including the rare wild dog, as well as cheetah, giraffe and more than 300 bird species. The lodge accommodates 24 guests in glass-fronted suites scattered across the hillside.
The 10 suites, including a honeymoon suite and private villa, are camouflaged by tamboti trees and thatch roofs. The secluded suites are connected by wooden walkways lit by hurricane lamps at night. Each luxurious suite has a living room, giant four-poster bed and floor-to-ceiling windows. Outside, each suite has a sunbed in the shade of an acacia tree as well as a plunge pool, for the ultimate in relaxed game viewing. You will be amazed at what passed by just a hundred feet or so from your deck. The bathrooms are ultra-luxurious with deep tubs with a wilderness view, and indoor and outdoor showers. You will dine on the main deck, which overlooks an active waterhole, in the elegant dining room and in the open-air traditional boma. Private dinners on the deck of your suite are also offered to couples wanting to spend time together in privacy.
