Set in the heart of the 17th-century, colonial-Dutch city Galle, Fort Bazaar Hotel is a fresh and boldly contemporary hotel with a Moorish vibe. The 15 Bazaar and Banyan bedrooms radiate off a peaceful flagstone-tiled courtyard, shaded by an age-old mango tree. They feature king-sized four-poster Balinese beds, and ensuite shower rooms. The 3 Upper Suites are more decadent with lounge areas, freestanding bathtubs, and fort-view terraces. The hotel restaurant, Church Street Social, kitted out with a blend of metallic décor and historic touches, bustles with hotel guests and locals and serves a melting pot of cuisines. Spend your time in Galle, winding up and down the Fort’s lanes and watching the sunset, or whales, from the fort walls.
