The magnificent Galle Fort Hotel is located at the very heart of the 17th century Galle Fort, a colonial-era fortress and World Heritage Site. One of the grand mansions of the fort, this iconic building sits in the center of the action. The property is within walking distance of shops, cafes, and restaurants, and is near to famous sights such as the Galle Fort Mosque, the Lighthouse, the Anglican and Dutch-reformed Churches and the Maritime Museum.

The hotel’s interiors are elegantly furnished with a minimalist style, blending the old with the new. Verandahs and courtyards, columns and arches are all carefully restored to their original grandeur. Room types vary from the entry-level Garden Rooms, which open onto frangipani-scented courtyards, to split-level Loft Suites and larger and more luxuriously designed suites and apartments. All have period furnishings and four-poster beds. The hotel’s inner courtyard has a small garden and a 10-metre pool, offering a tranquil area to sip on a colorful cocktail after a busy day sightseeing. Galle Fort’s restaurant serves Asian-West dishes and is famous for its lobster and jumbo prawns. Guests are invited to dine on the terrace, at the bar or in a grand dining room. We suggest that you hop on a bicycle and leisurely cycle around the fascinating area or visit the beach for a cool dip in the ocean, there are some lovely long strolls along the shore.
