Founded in 2002. Inspired since 1850.
A specialist in luxury African travel since 2002, our love affair with the continent began way before that. Our founder is a native South African and a direct descendent of the famous African explorer, Charles John Andersson. Since travelling with his parents on a Sabi Sands safari at the age of three his curiosity and love for Africa has been insatiable. Now a veteran of over one hundred safaris, including tracking gorillas in Uganda and walking with the Kalahari bushmen, his passion and knowledge flows through our company.
It's why we prefer our travel experts to experience a destination or activity before recommending it. It's behind our genuine commitment to protecting the African ecosystem and our ardent support for several wildlife and community-based charities. It's what powers our dedication to total customer satisfaction - ensuring all our customers experience the very best Africa has to offer.
It's why we've been awarded 'Safari, Wildlife and Nature Holiday Company of the Year' by the British Travel Awards for three consecutive years (2016, 2017 & 2018) and why we were nominated as 2020's Leading Safari Tour Operator at the distinguished World Travel Awards.
It's also why we're called Mahlatini. It's a Zulu word that means 'lover of the African wilderness'.
