The best time to visit Egypt is during Autumn and Spring. December and January bring relatively cold weather in the north, although it does remain pleasant in the Nile Valley and coastal areas. During summer the weather can become very hot in southern areas and humid in Cairo - although travelling at this time can be uncomfortable, but the benefit will be fewer tourists to compete with at the main attractions. A phenomenon of Egypt’s climate is the hot spring wind known as the khamsin, which usually occurs in late March and April.
