The only permanent camp in the Nxai Pan National Park, Nxai Pan Camp is located on the western edge of the fossil pan from which it takes its name, facing open grasslands. Excellent game viewing is possible from the comfort of the rooms as the water hole in front of the camp draws a multitude of mammal species. Wildlife viewing is seasonal and dependent on if and when the rains come, and when animals migrate. If the rains have been good, December to April is the best time to visit. Common species to be sighted are zebra, wildebeest, springbok, impala, gemsbok, hartebeest, giraffe, lion, cheetah, wild dog, brown hyena, bat-eared fox, and sometimes elephant and buffalo.
Nxai Pan Camp has 9 thatched units (including a family unit) specially designed to provide a constant and comfortable temperature throughout the year when seasonal temperatures can fluctuate from below freezing to well over 45 degrees Celsius. The main areas of the camp include an expansive open-air lounge and dining area, with a bar, a unique plunge pool, and a curio shop.

We very soon overcame our initial disappointment with a much less luxurious camp compared to Kwara, and with the poor sightings on our first game drive. People again were amazing. Nice place and very comfortable quarters. Need to work on the hot water for the showers. Not my favorite safari. After experiencing off road safaris and having to stay on the road and not getting close to the wildlife was a dissapointment.
