This week-long fly-in exploration visits Namibia's haunting Skeleton Coast, and the Big 5 Etosha region for a memorable safari. Marvel at the seemingly endless sand dunes as you fly by light aircraft to the remote Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp in northern Damaraland. The landscape is dramatically rugged and dotted with ancient welwitschia plant, dry riverbeds and seas of soft sand dunes. Explore on foot or a game drive seeking out the flora and fauna that eke out an existence in this harsh environment, including giraffe, gemsbok, elephant herds and even lion prides.
A full day excursion to the windswept coastline will allow you to see the Cape fur seal colony and some of the famous shipwrecks and whale bones. Then a complete contrast at Ongava Tented Camp in the Ongava Private Game Reserve, bordering the Etosha National Park. See the Big 5, including both black and white rhino, as well as giraffe and several antelope species on day and night game drives and nature walks. During your 'down' time we suggest that you sit in photographic hides waiting on the wildlife to come to you or do the same from your tent or the pool where you can enjoy game sightings from the camp's prolific waterhole.
