An award-wining boutique ecolodge in the Chyulu Hills of southern Kenya, Campi ya Kanzi is the only safari lodge on a Maasai-owned reserve which spans 283,000 acres of pristine wilderness. It borders Tsavo West National Park, Chyulu National Park and Amboseli National Park. Translated as 'Camp of the Hidden Treasure' it has a stunning backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro and Ernest Hemingway's 'Green Hills of Africa', perfect for an inspiring and authentic safari experience.
As a guest of Campi ya Kanzi you will not only enjoy a unique and pristine wilderness and amazing wildlife, but you'll actively protect them and help the Maasai community with whom the camp is in partnership. Whilst on safari you can expect to see an abundance of game including elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, black rhino and many more.
The camp itself offers a classic safari experience under canvas. There are six luxury tented cottages and two luxury tented suites, all raised up on wooden platforms with thatched roofs, keeping in line with the eco-feel of the lodge. All rooms are ensuite with a private veranda, sitting area, custom Italian linens and organic bath products. There is also an exclusive villa called Kanzi House to larger groups and families who would like to stay under one roof and dine privately.
The main part of the camp is Tembo House which has a veranda overlooking the Tsavo Hills and Mount Kilimanjaro. With an open-plan dining/living room constructed from local materials, it's the perfect place to relax in the evening and enjoy freshly prepared Italian or local cuisine. During the day you can enjoy a view of the vast wildlife that visits the camp's watering hole. You will be hosted by Antonella and Luca who are passionate about the area and keen to provide their guests with a unique experience.
Located within the Mbirikani Group Ranch. A daily private air charter from Nairobi takes about an hour.
