Loisaba Starbeds

Located in the 56,000 acre private wildlife conservancy Loisaba, the Loisaba (or Kiboko) Starbeds are on a hillside with sweeping views over an undulating valley and overlooking a busy waterhole, home to hippos and frequented by resident wildlife. The Loisaba conservancy is a prime example of successful collaboration between conservation, communities, ranching and tourism, famous for its elephant population, its big cats and particularly for being one of the best locations to see wild dog.

The starbeds are handcrafted four-posted wooden beds which sit on raised wooden platforms and which jut out from a thatched-roof accommodation. Each night the beds are rolled out for guests to enjoy a memorable sleep under the endless African sky. There are 3 ensuite rooms with double beds and 1 ensuite family room with two double beds rolled onto the separate outside platforms. The rooms are all rustically designed to complement the surrounding environment, built in harmony with the natural rocky features and including a sitting area and open plan bathroom with a view.

During your stay, you will rise early to watch the sunrise from your Star Bed comforted by a hot beverage. After a myriad of daily activities, you will round off your day with drinks by the log fire in the Star Beds lounge telling tales of your adventures, following which you will share a delicious dinner with other guests. Loisaba is the Samburu name for the Seven Sisters constellation, and you will end your day staring into the endless night sky trying to find that constellation and many more.
