Tortilis Camp

Situated just outside Amboseli National Park, famous for its vistas of Mount Kilimanjaro and tremendous elephant herds, Tortilis Camp sits in one of the few remaining areas of unspoilt woodland. Tortilis Camp is a charming, rustic tented camp, shaded by a natural forest of Acacia Tortilis thorn trees after which the camp is named. Located in the undeveloped western half of Amboseli the camp offers game drives and walks both inside and outside the park and within a private 30,000 acre game concession. More than half of the guides at Tortilis are Masai, and have between them 80 years of guiding at Tortilis! The camp is rare in offering open game drive vehicles.

Such magnificent vistas are also on offer from the camp's main area, which comprises a lounge, bar, dining room and an inviting swimming pool, perfect for cooling off on a hot day. Review of Tortilis Camp

Adrienne & Nicholas

What a perfect first stop. Not too far from Nairobi and just an adorable set up. We loved the tents and even the silly monkeys who still somehow got in despite our following the camp guidance. Very sneaky and adorable! The service here was perfect, always there to bring you a glass of wine and help you relax after being out in the bush! Even treating us to some…
