Tortilis Camp
Situated just outside Kenya's Amboseli National Park, famous for its vistas of Mount Kilimanjaro and tremendous elephant herds, Tortilis Camp sits in one of the few remaining areas of unspoilt woodland. Tortilis Camp is a charming, rustic tented camp, shaded by a natural forest of Acacia Tortilis thorn trees after which the camp is named.
The camp's 20 tents are spacious and offer private verandas with stunning views to enjoy. Tortilis is a child friendly camp offering both a family tent and a private house. All of the accommodation in camp provides en suite facilities, with flush toilets and hot showers, comfortable beds and furnishings and an unrivalled outlook of towering Kilimanjaro. Such magnificent vistas are also on offer from the camp's main area, which comprises a lounge, bar, dining room and an inviting swimming pool, perfect for cooling off on a hot day. The camp specialty is top notch Italian cuisine with ingredients coming straight from the camp's own vegetable garden.

We loved Elwana Tortilis Camp! I am not sure we could have gotten any luckier than to have been met by our gold-rated guide JJ! Truly JJ was the most wonderful ambassador to represent this wonderful property and Amboseli! From the flamingos lining the road, herds of elephants, zebras, and giraffes…

Our favorite of the three safari camps! The staff from the top to bottom were friendly and welcoming. Particular thanks to Tina (Bob), one of the general managers who was understanding and kind, Gohu (Donald), our funny, receptive, and warm server, Letema, our incredibly friendly butler, and to Che…
