Holidays to Malawi

It may be one of Africa's smallest countries but when it comes to adventure and exploration, Malawi has much to offer; from mountaintops, grasslands and forests and unspoilt game reserves to Africa's third largest and most beautiful Lake, Lake Malawi.

Malawi Highlights

  • Malawi is the 'warm heart of Africa' famous for its hospitality and welcoming people
  • Diversity of breath taking scenery
  • Scenic Lake Malawi offers excellent snorkelling and diving
  • Nine national parks offer good game viewing and excellent bird watching
  • Offers combinations of safari and beach
  • Safe tourist destination
  • Year round warm weather
  • Unique, 'off the beaten track' holiday destination

Fabled for its crystal clear waters and hundreds of tropical fish, it's a diver's paradise. But it doesn't stop there; you can snorkel and kayak the lake as well, relax on one of its sandy beaches or, better yet, pay a visit to one of its exotic islands. Feeling romantic? A sunset cruise isn't out of the question, Lake Malawi is known as the Lake of Stars after all.

Away from the lake expect to be wowed by Malawi's mountains, rolling green hills and National Parks which are particularly diverse in their game. Reserves such as Majete Wildlife Reserve contain the Big 5 and are virtually undiscovered by tourists, making for unique and exciting safaris.

Not adventurous enough? Mount Mulanje is waiting for you. Hiking enthusiasts will love the craggy tors of this 3,000m massif, rightly termed by locals 'The Island in the Sky' - are you up for the challenge?

While in the Mulanje area why not take advantage of the growing tea industry? Nothing like a cup of tea to relax. The scenery is to die for: with cascading waterfalls, lush farmland and thick forests - instant proof Malawi is one of Africa's hidden gems.

Malawi has enough on offer to explore as a destination in its own right but this land-locked country is one of our favourite spots to include at the start or end of safari. Its lake-side beaches are the perfect complement to an action-packed safari in one of its surrounding countries.

Holidays to Malawi might not be the first choice for a honeymoon or family holiday but this is its very appeal. Offering a very unique experience and accommodation which is mostly small and intimate, we are never surprised by its glowing reviews.

With action packed experiences, friendly people and stunning backdrops we found it impossible not to fall in love with the country known as the Warm Heart of Africa. Contact our Malawi specialists and we will tailor your perfect holiday.
