Set high in the Viphya Mountains, Luwawa Forest Lodge is an ideal accommodation if you plan to get away from it all. The lodge is situated at around 1650 m above sea level, so expect an incredible wilderness experience and a beautiful setting with the surrounding woodlands and walking trails waiting to be explored.
There are a number of accommodation options to avail of at the lodge that range from tents to en-suite chalets. If you don't mind shared or low cost accommodation then the Bunk House might work for you, as the name suggests all beds are bunk beds. A large campsite is also found at Luwawa with a number of facilities, including hot and cold water and flush toilets. Guests can also avail of self-catering cottages and family en-suite chalets.
Thanks to its stunning mountain setting the lodge has some exciting activities on offer. For a real adventure take a wilderness trail from your perch in the Viphya to legendary Lake Malawi or for a gentler excursion take to one of the trails in the lodge's surrounding area. Theses trails vary in length and difficulty but are a great way to immerse in the forest and see some local birdlife. Mountain biking and rock climbing are also on offer.
