The 5 star LUX* Grand Gaube has a glorious location on a secluded peninsula on the north coast of Mauritius, near the fishing village of Grand Gaube; it is set in delightful tropical gardens beside two tranquil beaches and a calm lagoon with jaw-dropping ocean vistas. After major refurbishment, the Kelly Hoppen inspired design offers a retro-chic style resort that's sophisticated, yet wonderfully informal, with a host of facilities and activities, including amazing dining options.
Comprising of 186 rooms, suites and villas, all provide stylish, high standards of luxury with sumptuous furnishings. Lead-in accommodation includes Superior and Deluxe Rooms, although we particularly recommend more spacious Junior Suites with direct beach access. Perfect for a Mauritius honeymoon, Romantic Junior Suites, located on the second floor have a spacious balcony with chill-out loungers and an outdoor bathtub. Family Suites sleep 2 adults and up to 3 teens, while for guests seeking more space and privacy, there are two-bedroom Ocean Villas as well as the LUX* Villa - all with private pool. There's also an adult-only zone at the resort with its own pool. WiFi is complimentary throughout the resort.
A highlight of a holiday at LUX* Grand Gaube, both for couples and families alike, is not only the extensive choice of leisure activities throughout the resort, but the amazing cuisine and dining options. As well as lounges, bars and the Café LUX*, there are no less than 6 restaurants: Palm Court, the main restaurant, has several live cooking stations; while a la carte options are available at Beach Rouge, Bodrum Blue and Inti - the latter offering vibrant flavours of Argentina and Peru; meanwhile Banyan offers unique dining experiences including a Creole Smokehouse, a burger shack as well as a Rum Treehouse! And, if that wasn't enough, there's LUX*'s own ice cream available every afternoon.
An array of land and water sports ensures that all ages are catered for. Highlights include: the extremely popular LUX*Me Spa with its variety of treatments, from relaxing massages and facial treatments to yoga classes; a tennis academy with 4 floodlit courts; and for golf lovers, exclusive arrangements to play at the nearby Mont Choisy Golf Club championship course. For family holidays in Mauritius, there's also an extensive programme of engaging, supervised activities to keep younger guests happy at Play (3 to 11 year olds) and Studio 17 (12-17 years).

Stunning venue, very accommodating when we arrived without our luggage which wasn't loaded onto aircraft. They arranged an emergency kit for us which was fully of goodies and useful items and chased our baggage with airline. It was our honeymoon and they made us feel very special. Memorable and wonderful stay.
Really nice hotel. Setting us brilliant and beach is very sheltered. Food options were great, going all inclusive was a good option as foods would have been expensive otherwise. One slight thing I would give a 4/5 instead of 5/5 is that the standard rooms which we were in could go with a refurbishment / fresh paint and tiles were a bit grubby. Otherwise the hotel was great, food choices…
