Each chalet is unique, possessing its own distinctive style and charming 4 poster beds. Guests can look out upon the waters of Lake Malawi and relax in a baths cut out of the solid rock of a boulder. The chalets are wonderfully intimate and are ideal for a couple. However, the property's private houses are equally well equipped and supersede the chalets in space and privacy. A house would be a good option for families or larger groups. Guests are afforded excellent service and cuisine from a private chef and inviting open plan living. The best accommodation option at Nkwichi, and certainly the most romantic, is the star bed. Guests can look up into the starry African sky, with their bed placed on location on a deserted beach.

Dining at the lodge is a particular highlight, with the vast majority of ingredients used in meals fresh and organic. The lake is an excellent source of fish and vegetables and fruit are taken from the property's very own farm. So near the water, there are also numerous activities guests can enjoy, including fishing trips and snorkelling.

Getting There

Review of Nkwichi Lodge

Oh wow! Claire described it as something out of Robinson Crusoe and she was not mistaken! We literally did the exact same thing every single day and it was heaven. We read a million books, swam in warm, CLEAN water, ate huge amounts of vegetables, enjoyed daily sundowners around a beach bonfire followed by dinner on the beach. The staff were so incredibly friendly and hospitable too.
