Villa Margherita is a renovated historical building originally constructed between 1908 and 1913. It opened its doors to the public as a guest house in March 2008 and is set in the heart of Swakopmund. The owners managed to maintain the original structure and unique and innate charm of this old colonial house but of course included all necessary modern conveniences. Guests can enjoy exploring the surrounding area, with the hotel nearby all of Swakopmund's major restaurants and activities. However, for those who wish to dine in, Villa Margherita's restaurant Il Tulipano is excellent; their Italian dishes are particularly noteworthy. Guests will also find a quaint lounge, with a fireplace for cooler evenings.
Guests should expect 8 unique en-suite rooms with chic and comfortable design. The rooms are well furnished, with a pervading old world ambience offset by pleasing hints at the contemporary. All rooms feature WiFi, flat screen TV's, personal laptops (on request) and a small lounge area. The bathrooms possess both a bath and a shower. The majority of rooms feature king or queen size beds.
Around Swakopmund there are innumerable adventure activities for guests to try their hand at. Those looking for a thrill can skydive or quadbike over the dunes of the Namib (the world's oldest desert), or for those wishing to indulge in gentler pursuits, hot air balloon rides over Swakopmund are on offer.
