Honeymoon to South Africa & Mauritius
Virginia Hartofilis, 14th October 2021Mind blowing, relaxing, and just perfection. After all the craziness of 2020, this trip really took our breaths away and was exactly what we looking for and more.

“Mauritius was beautiful! I enjoy exploring islands and different towns, however, everything seems to be a good hour's drive from each other. So it was one of those islands that you may prefer to just have a drink and rest on the beach all day. Had we had more time there, I'm sure we would have explored more. But overall the 6 days there were amazing.”
South Africa
“South Africa was amazing as well as beautiful. Everyone we met was so welcoming and so excited to tell us about their country. I will say I wish we were able to spend more time and explore, but now we have a reason to rebook.”

JW Marriott Mauritius Resort
“The team at JW Marriott Mauritius was incredible! They took such great care of us and made it feel like we had the entire resort to ourselves. From the beach staff learning our preferred drinks of choice and having them ready to go each day, to our butler Sonam making sure we were always taken care of. Even the resort manager was kind enough to check on us regularly and offered us an incredible room upgrade early into our stay. Having several restaurant options to choose from on-site was great since we were never bored with what to eat. The full board option was very helpful as well.
Our initial room was nice, but for what you are paying per night and for the hotel's brand, there should be a slight renovation. Older look to the rooms as well as poor lighting. For a beach resort, it could have had lighter furniture options, more of a modern look. The larger suite upgrade was beautiful however with an incredible terrace right on the waterfront.
Overall, the experience of having a beautiful view all week and walking right out of your room to a beach chair was perfect.”
Summerfields Rose Retreat & Spa
“Summerfields was an interesting stay. It was a different experience being in a large tent in the open, and having the bathroom outside. I enjoyed the one night there but for anyone not a fan of washing up outdoors at night with insects and possible animals, it is not for them.
The employees were all very pleasant and the meals were delicious. Upon arrival, they had set the bath up with rose petals, fruit and champagne. This was a lovely surprise for our honeymoon, however we were also a bit surprised when they charged us for the setup and items at the end of the stay. Not that it was an unreasonable amount, just through us off a bit as you would think they took it upon themselves to provide it for us.
I enjoyed the experience overall. For a luxurious tent, it did not disappoint.”
Chitwa Chitwa Private Game Lodge
“Michael and I cannot say enough about Chitwa Chitwa. The team there treat you like family. I love the intimate feel of the stay in that there are not many lodges on the property, so you really get to know the guests and employees to make the stay more enjoyable. The room was absolutely beautiful, with the deck and plunge pool. Very spacious closet space, which is appreciated.
As excited as we were to see the big five and any animals we could find, we were just as excited for the food each day. The chef(s) and kitchen staff deserve serious recognition for the meals they provided. We loved the personal breakfast spread given to your table each morning, along with any special egg and coffee/drink requests. Lunch was always delicious, with the option to eat in your room or in the main area each day. But dinner was something to really get excited for as they would try to host dinner in a new location each night. Dinner under the stars on the airstrip the first night was amazing. Unfortunately, it was a bit too cold to have more nights eating outdoors, but the food itself more than made up for it!
And of course the drives. It was so great having the same driver and tracker each day. As the days go on, you really get to know each other more and have a great time driving around for hours each day. Our driver Dylan and tracker Ranson made the entire trip. We were so appreciative of how knowledgeable the two were. We learned so much about each animal and nature in general. And have to love the daily leg stretches with cocktails on the drives.
Chitwa Chitwa really completed our honeymoon. It was above and beyond our expectations in every way!”

So we felt confident in Mahlatini's abilities to provide us with an exceptional experience. And you sure did not disappoint. Working with Natasha Morris was so great from the start. She was very responsive through email and phone. We booked our honeymoon pre-pandemic, so when everything went upside down, she made sure to get in touch with us right away with options. We felt so comfortable working with her that we quickly agreed to rebook for a year later. And she helped us through every step of the way.
