Adventure Holiday to Namibia & South Africa

Mr Chris Barnes, 26th August 2022
Overall Rating:

Fantastic trip which really captured everything we wanted from the holiday. Lots of places were visited but none of it felt too rushed or that we spent too little time anywhere. Fabulous accommodation.

Accommodation Visited

Little Kulala

“Fabulous open camp with the freedom to walk anywhere you want. Beautiful dark skies and some amazing views, both from the camp itself and also on the trips we organised from there. Breathtaking.”

Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp

“Our favourite place of the trip. Accommodation and team were all first class and our guide Vincent went above and beyond to help us learn more about the animals and the wonderful country of Namibia. The trip to the Skeleton Coast was a real delight and even though we didn’t get to fly back, the extra time we had on the ground gave us some wonderful sightings and the time to learn more from Vincent. Just spectacular.”

Olive Grove Guesthouse

“Great and convenient place for an overnight stopover in Windhoek.”

More Quarters Apartment Hotel

“A real home from home in Cape Town. Conveniently located and the free Uber service gave us an opportunity to easily get around the city in the days we had there. Lots of space in the room to relax and spend some downtime there and the staff are able to help with everything from tours to spa services.”

Rhino Post Safari Lodge

“Great little camp with wonderful rooms (outdoor shower!) and really knowledgeable guides. We only spent one evening there but it was nice that we had the opportunity to dine with our guide, which wasn’t so common with all of the other camps. Dining is on a more communal basis than with other camps so just be aware if you are hoping for a quiet meal with your partner/family in the evening (although I’m sure they could accommodate if you wanted to be separate).”

Plains Camp

“Wonderful tiny camp, really away from everything with no Wi-Fi or mobile phone signal and no power sockets in the rooms!
The camp staff are fabulous and although sightings on foot are probably more difficult than by car, it’s a great experience to be out walking in the national park so close to nature.
The sleep out was a great experience but do be very prepared for a cold and not particularly comfortable evening - in our case kept awake by lions roaring all night on either side of the camp, but that in itself was quite magical.
Do take time to talk to the camp staff and learn about their experience - I found some guests treated them very much as staff rather than people and they had some hugely interesting stories of their own lives and experiences to share, which are very humbling compared to our own privileged western lives.”

Staff Review

“Nicki has been absolutely great from start to finish on this, from
helping put together the itinerary to checking in on us during our trip.
The one thing that I think Malahtini could perhaps do (rather than Nicki) is to include some greater detail on the camps themselves in the itinerary. I found myself having to Google for a lot of the detail about what is provided at each camp etc, as the info from Mahlatini was a little generic. Some feedback to improve on what was otherwise a really brilliant trip.”
