Honeymoon to Kenya & Mauritius
Elizabeth Fitzgerald, 28th December 2022We could not recommend Mahlatini more! Overall, they were wonderful in pulling together the honeymoon of a lifetime. We went to Kenya and did several days on a safari there, and then ended our trip with a relaxing beach vacation in Mauritius. From the beginning, Mahlatini worked with us through a couple of different options to hone in on the honeymoon we had always dreamed of. We were able to have peace-of-mind as our trip got closer because Mahlatini pulled together any and all up-to-date travel information for us (e.g. mandatory and optional vaccinations, visa requirements, packing lists, best practices for tipping, a detailed day-by-day itinerary, etc). It was so amazing (and a relief!) to not have to do our own research on those aspects of international traveling. When traveling, Mahlatini coordinated all of our transfers and each person assigned to our pick-ups gave us context and information on what we could expect next, which was so nice since we were traveling in a country we had never been to before. Furthermore, our accommodations throughout the trip exceeded our expectations. Our return trip was a bit disrupted by an unexpected flight delay that was going to cause us to miss our international flight back to the States. That said, we were able to quickly get in touch with the emergency Mahlatini contact who was there to help us and we were able to find an alternate route home. Overall, Mahlatini was an unbelievable, professional company to work with. We hope to use them again in the near future!

Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp
“Unbelievable. We hope to come back and stay there again if we can ever do a safari in the future! The &Beyond Kichwa Tembo tented camp in Kenya was fantastic. From our “tent”, to our meals, to all the staff we interacted with, it was truly an unbelievable experience and one we’ll never forget. The camp really created a sense of community by having a consistent driver/guide, butler, person who changed over our tent each morning and night, etc. We also appreciated that nothing was forced on the other people at the camp. It was nice to have our privacy and the choice to sit at our own table and participate in the things we wanted to.”
Tamarind Tree Hotel
“The staff was great, and overall accommodation was nice. The food at the restaurant there was also delicious! The pool was unfortunately closed while we were there, and the hallways were pretty noisy on both instances we stayed there.”
LUX* Le Morne
“In Mauritius, we were blown away by the luxurious Lux Le Morne hotel. It really felt 5-star. The rooms were so beautiful, we got several complimentary offerings since we were on our honeymoon which was such a nice surprise (e.g. a couples massage, a cocktail-making class, and champagne on our deck). The only reason we're not giving this 5 stars is that we were unable to book any "extra activities" before we checked in. However, once we did arrive and check-in, there was no availability for the deep-sea/big-game fishing, the catamaran day, etc. So that was a bit disappointing.”

“Overall, Melissa was great. She was so pleasant to work with, and we cannot express our gratitude for Melissa's patience as she provided several different honeymoon options for us upfront, and answered all of our follow-up questions once we decided where we were going to go.
The only piece of feedback we have on Melissa would be to confirm receipt of emails, even if she doesn't have answers to questions. We would go several days without hearing from her when we had some questions. We completely understand it takes time to get answers (especially with time differences), but at least acknowledging receipt and confirming she was looking into it would have been nice.”
