Accommodation Visited
The Clarendon Bantry Bay
“The accommodation was superb. Luxury bedroom with great sea view. The evening meal was average.”
The Last Word Franschhoek
“Unique and excellent hosting. Best breakfast and lovely staff! Could have done an extra night here!”
Abalone Guest Lodge
“Friendly, great for a couple of days. The evening menu was limited but good quality. It had only 3 items and they only change it monthly.”
The Plettenberg
“Great location with easy access to superb beaches. The accommodation was brilliant with lovely views and sunsets.”
Amakhala Safari Lodge
“We didn’t think this was luxury. The towels were tea towel material. Not a fan of outdoor showers. Safari trips were long but excellent and we saw all the animals we expected to see. Probably could have done one day less here. Food was plentiful, wholesome and basic.”
The Victoria Falls Hotel
“Beautiful location. Unique historic hotel which they are leveraging for tourism. Disappointed in the following: Having chosen this location to see the falls, we were put in a room without a view. The voucher for a complimentary afternoon tea turned out to be for only one person so we had to share it. The vouchers for a massage were only for shoulder, back and neck or head massage or foot massage. They charged us an extra $65 each for a full-body massage.
The food was very average and very overpriced. Although, there was plenty to choose from at breakfast. You need to advise people to take US$ currency to tip and that all payments on credit cards are in this currency. The rate they use is at parity to the GBP which is very disadvantageous.”
Staff Review
“Excellent service and recommendations. Natasha is very knowledgeable.”
