“Loved this hotel. The hotel concierge was wonderful, they pre-booked our dinner reservations before we arrived over the Easter holiday and helped get us a driver for touring Stellenbosch who was excellent on Easter Sunday! Loved that it was just a walk over to some fab restaurants and shopping on the water, more than we expected for sure.”
Amakhala Safari Lodge
“The personnel were all excellent and accommodating in every way. Food was great and service wonderful. Lodge rooms were large and had all the conveniences, however, we felt that our room may have been a bit worn out but not in a big way.
The only reason we can’t give a full 5-star rating is because we were unprepared for the weather situation when we were there. Every day was windy and cold. We were told to bring an extra layer for the mornings but we ended up wearing at least 4 layers for the entire day and using the safari ponchos as well. We were told that the weather was unseasonably chilly but I wish we had been prepared for that.
Kitty, you told us on the phone to wear shorts and light apparel because we would get hot, well, not only did I not wear shorts but I wore extra leggings under my long pants every day and had to buy a jacket in the shop. I know you have no responsibility for the weather, but in future, please tell clients to bring a heavier jacket just in case during this time of year.”

“Beautiful hotel! Personnel wonderful, loved the piano playing during the day in the reception and during tea. We visited the mall area and were surprised at how huge it was. We were advised by several hotel people not to venture out on the streets at all. Appreciated that they were upfront with us on this.”

“We started with Monica when we initially booked and had long conversations with her on the phone which were great. She was the one who actually did all the trip planning with us. We were very impressed with her.
Kitty did a great job of following up and completing the planning for our trip. We had a mishap with receiving our folder and trip itinerary and she was great at making sure that we did get it after some back-and-forth emailing. As mentioned, the weather issue was disappointing in that we were told it would be hot during the day and were not prepared for the cold.”
