holiday to South Africa & Mauritius
Ellie Thomas, 10th May 2023Our honeymoon was absolutely incredible, South Africa was 100% our favourite as we had a fantastic time in Cape Town with our private tour guide before embarking on the highlight of our lives in the Sabi Sands. If I could live on Safari at Chitwa Chitwa I absolutely would (sorry husband, hopefully, you’d move with me!). Every person we encountered was wonderful and couldn’t do enough for us. We left our hearts in Chitwa for sure! Whilst we enjoyed the chill time of Mauritius and a wonderful Catamaran trip, we found the final portion of the honeymoon in Mauritius a bit underwhelming, but we should have planned for this after such an epic adventure in South Africa!

“We were really sad to miss one night in Cape Town due to international flight issues and even more so when we arrived at the One & Only because it was gorgeous! The nights we did spend in Cape Town were absolutely wonderful and the hotel was exceptional. The staff couldn’t do enough for us, the facilities were beautiful, and breakfast was an absolute delight! Our room was beautiful and everything a honeymoonin’ couple could dream of. We did a wine experience at the hotel too in the wine studio with Luvo and had a great time. Highly recommend One & Only to anyone.”

“Our safari experience is almost indescribable; I cried my heart out leaving and had the staff in tears too! It was absolute perfection. The lodges, the staff, the service, the experiences & the food were all wonderful. We are already planning to return, it felt like we were part of the family. We couldn’t have asked for a better lodge. We saw literally everything we dreamed of, and the sightings were incredible. Our guide, Clayton, and tracker, Rolph, helped to make our trip more amazing than we’d ever hoped. Thank you for finding us this gem.”

“We weren’t here long enough to make a proper judgment. I attempted to run a bath and ants came out of the tap and the staff weren’t as welcoming by comparison. The room was large and had everything we needed and the grounds looked impressive although we didn’t get to experience these due to the short layover.”
Sands Suites Resort & Spa
“Mauritius was a bit underwhelming for us and although the facilities at the hotel were lovely and picturesque, i.e. the pool and private beach, our room itself was a bit tired and in need of some TLC. We didn’t feel like we had the luxurious experience we expected. The hotel was quite isolated (and expensive if not all-inclusive as we experienced) so we didn’t get to see as much of Mauritius as we thought we would, although we’d opted for the side that was deemed less touristy, I’d say other than the hotels it was not touristy at all. It was certainly great for a chill out although the weather also let us down a little which can’t be helped! The staff were all wonderful and looked after us well.”

“Natasha was so wonderful and we couldn’t be happier that she was our Travel Expert. No question, query or opinion sought was too much for her. When we had international travel issues (booked separately by us), Natasha ensured our ground plans and pick-ups were all rearranged and sorted as well as liaising with our private tour guide to ensure we could still get the best use of our limited time in Cape Town.
