Malcolm Murray, 14th September 2023The trip was even more amazing than we had hoped! Mahlatini did a wonderful job lining up the perfect itinerary with perfect properties and made sure that every detail was taken care of. We even had representatives waiting at the airports to whisk us through customs as VIPs. We saw more animals up close than we ever dreamed of during our stays at the safari camps, and enjoyed a week at a beautiful beach resort afterward to chill and recover. The food was five-star at every stop, which we had requested, but hadn't really expected in the wilds of Africa!

Giraffe Manor
“We had just a one-night stop, but it was incredible. We had enough time to have afternoon tea with the giraffes, a wonderful dinner, and then breakfast with the giraffes. Giraffe Manor was as beautiful as it looks on the website.”

“Very hot climate, but probably the most luxurious of the properties. A little tough to sleep in the heat even with the fans, but that's part of the experience. The cold plunge pool at our villa saved us! The game drives were great, and the food was amazing.”
Sala's Camp
“This one felt the most like an African safari! We stayed in a large luxurious family tent with our own riverside terrace and lap pool, though we never had time to use the latter. Our best game drives of the trip were here in the Maasai Mara during the Great Migration! We saw a cheetah stalking a herd of giraffes on the ride to the camp from the airport, so we knew that every day would be action-packed! Samson and Masek were the best ranger/spotter team ever and made the three days fun as well as exciting. At every stop, the food and service were top notch.”

“The perfect beach getaway to recover from the week of game drives! We had a two-bedroom villa right on the beach, and the staff went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed. As soon as we would lie down on the beach chairs on the private beach, Firstborn would show up with glasses of lemongrass tea, a carafe of water, and plates of fruit. The steps up to the buffet restaurant were a little long but forced us to get some exercise between lounging sessions. My wife loved the spice garden tour and cooking class (and I loved eating the results). The tour of the island and historic Stone Town was also fascinating, but it was all about lounging on the beach and our terrace this week!”

“Steve was great. I told him that we wanted a week at a few safari camps with luxury accommodations and food, followed by a week at a luxury beach resort. He lined up exactly that and exceeded our expectations at every turn. The Safari Collection reps at every stop knew Mahlatini and Steve, and treated us like VIPs, whether whisking us past the airport customs lines or ensuring our own private safari cars with dedicated rangers and spotters at each site. With so many moving parts, I was sure there would be complications at some point, but it was flawless from beginning to end!”
