holiday to South Africa & Mauritius
Claire Espie, 5th October 2023We had an amazing time in South Africa, but Mauritius let us down. If we had only done South Africa it would have been 5 stars.

The Table Bay Hotel
“Great location, a lovely hotel and there was a congratulations balloon and champagne on arrival in our room. The room was lovely and had spectacular views of Table Mountain and the bay. We also came back to our room on the first night to rose petals on the bed. A lovely touch for the first night of our honeymoon.”
Jaci's Safari Lodge
“I would give Jaci's Safari Lodge 6 stars if I could. It was amazing. We were upgraded to an amazing room with its own viewing deck and an upstairs deck with a bed for sleeping under the stars. They also served us a private dinner in our room with a bubble bath. The bedtime stories at night were a lovely touch too. Our game drives were amazing, we saw so much more than we expected. Very knowledgeable guide and the staff were so friendly. The food was to die for as well!”
Shanti Maurice Resort & Spa
“While the location, the hotel, the beach, and the pools are all stunning, our room was underwhelming. Work on the decking began early in the morning, around 7 am, and continued throughout the day. It was very noisy, and the noise couldn't be escaped; it could be heard from our room, the pool, the beach, the restaurant, and the spa. Within 5 minutes of being in our room the first night, we were called and asked to keep the noise down because the adjoining room had complained. We were only talking, with no TV, music, or loud noises, yet you could hear everything between the rooms. This made us very uncomfortable in the room for the rest of the trip.
Also, we did not receive any special service for being on our honeymoon, which was particularly noticeable because the other two properties went above and beyond. We also spent two days in the room with a vomiting bug. We heard people at breakfast talking about being sick too and questioned food poisoning, but the hotel insisted there was no chance of that. It was a very disappointing end to our otherwise amazing honeymoon.”
