Bateleur Camp
“We didn't want to leave! Our stay at Bateleur was truly marvelous. The staff and service were impeccable, and the camp itself was magical. The safari experience was amazing, and the hot air balloon ride over the Mara was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that was completely worth it. We only wish we could have stayed longer.”
Breezes Beach Club & Spa
“Even though we really liked Zanzibar and Stonetown, our stay at Breezes was average at best. The comparison between our experience at Bateleur and Breezes is like night and day. To begin with, the staff at Breezes were not friendly, except for a couple of exceptions. They wanted to charge you an arm and a leg for everything that wasn't included in the half board. We had a few days of bad weather, and there was literally nothing to do at the resort; even the internet didn't work throughout our whole stay. If you wanted to go to Stonetown, they charged you more than 100 USD per ride. You couldn't book anything if it wasn't through them, and everything was way overpriced. The thing that bothered us the most, because it was just petty on their behalf, was charging you for water at dinner – mind you water was included at breakfast. This was supposedly a 5-star hotel, and if you wanted water, they brought a 2L plastic bottle to the table, which was not up to par with what the experience should've been. Mahlatini and online reviews give Breezes a 5-star condition, which wasn't the reality. The room was okay but dated and poorly maintained, with one of those really cheap all-in-one shampoo and soap dispensers stuck to the wall, which again doesn't align with a 5-star hotel. The only real positive we got out of Breezes was a really good experience at the spa.”
