Adventure Holiday to Rwanda & Tanzania

Angie Boxberger, 15th January 2024
Overall Rating:

We fell in love with both countries, Rwanda & Tanzania (for completely different reasons). We could have stayed weeks at both and still wanted more. Everything ran very smoothly which meant we didn't have to worry about anything except soaking it all in and enjoying each day!

Accommodation Visited

Kigali Serena Hotel

“Beautiful property which was very comfortable after a long travel day/night. The food was excellent and the room was very spacious. Our favorite part about Kigali was the Genocide Memorial Museum - what a life-changing experience.”

Amakoro Songa Lodge

“This lodge was incredible! The rooms were beyond comfortable - quite luxurious to be honest and the grounds were impeccable. We took so many pictures of the property grounds simply because it was so beautiful - every direction had a new beautiful view. The food was phenomenal and they accommodated our vegetarian diet with high-quality, high-variety meals. We were NEVER hungry because they fed us so well. The people were SO hospitable and we could tell that they truly wanted us to have an amazing experience (which we did)! We especially loved the location. We got to do the community tour and see the positive impact the lodge has had on locals and the community. We got to interact and see the way the people in the community live and it was truly touching.”

Lemala Mara and Ndutu Tented Camps

“The staff and location are what made this lodge everything! The people - I could cry just thinking of them now. They were the most genuine, kind people and you could tell just how hard they try to make sure our experience is above and beyond. We loved our guide and felt so connected to him by the end of our trip. The only thing we would have changed about the itinerary is we would have liked to have the mobile camp first and then the bit nicer accommodation in Rwanda second as it would have been nice to have a more comfortable shower/dry hair, etc for the long travel day home (all our clothes and bags were somewhat damp just from the nature of the rainy season at the Ndutu Camp which was a touch uncomfortable for the travel home - didn't bother us a minute while we were there though!). The only other feedback I have: the game drives were INCREDIBLE and we loved them so much...but we were a little disappointed that the afternoon game drives were so short. We went out all morning which was expected and great, but then would have 4.5 hours of downtime in the afternoon and the camp didn't really have anything for us to do (and of course, you can't walk around due to the risk of wildlife), then would have 2 hours in the afternoon for game drives before the park closed. Mostly it's a tribute to how great the game drives were that we just hoped there would be MORE time on the drives, less time at the camp. Otherwise, nothing but incredible feedback!”

Staff Review

“Everything was so smooth and easy - it made an intimidating itinerary feel like a breeze. We cannot wait to go back!”
