Honeymoon to Botswana
Nikki, 18th July 2013The Gunn's Camp was the best lodge, then runner up came Ghoha Hills Camp. The flights and transfers were seamless.
Accommodation Visited
“Great staff and food, nice and relaxed atmosphere. We were not given a double bed, however, even though they knew we were o honeymoon, which was annoying as the beds are set in concrete at opposite ends of the hut. We did not get the hut we booked for, we got a lower grade hut. The expeditions were very good, and cleanliness was good.”
Gunn's Camp
“High level of staff to guest ratio, very friendly. Food was good, accommodation was luxurious. Only one issue was erratic hot water which they knew about but could not fix easily as its solar powered.”
“Lovely interiors and staff. We felt this was not an ideal fit for a honeymooning couple as we were paired with a cranky American family to go on our 4x4 tours with, and were 'forced' to sit with them for lunch and dinner which was awkward. We were not really allowed to sit away from the group for meals, only on our 'honeymoon' dinner at our tent. However, the game viewings were very successful, seeing lots of animals.”
“Lovely staff, great tent, and communal areas. Camp was not full so it was nice to be pampered by the staff. They gave us special romantic meals all the time. Game drives were good. Views were stunning from the tent.”
“Nice but lots of cobwebs in the rafters of the double-height roof. Main areas a bit shabby. Staff were rather disinterested and not well trained. Lovely location and views.”
