“Beautiful. Stunning country - some of the scenery was simply breathtaking and we were also really taken with how friendly it was. The security issues we were concerned with just were not a problem at all.”

“We absolutely loved the house - I only mark it down by one because really it wasn't that child friendly with windows which opened to sheer drops and open pool etc but we put up with that due to the stunning location and the feel of the house. Nox rental were also amazing - any problems and they sorted it immediately. Only slight downside was housekeeping who would come any time between 10-6pm which made it tricky with children sleeping and also at 6pm was not much good! They also left house totally unlocked a few times. But these were minor gripes compared to how much we loved the house.”

Spier Hotel

“Very mixed feelings about here. Beautiful property and one on one staff were incredibly friendly but some things really let it down. Noise of road was continuous. Before arriving we had tried to contact the concierge to arrange some dinner and vineyard bookings for us - we must have left 4 or so messages and emailed at least 4 times and none of our, messages were responded to. Kids club was good but disorganised and never stuck to timetable of activities. Room service very inflexible with dietary requirements. I think main problem was hotel was very busy with conferences and just weren't interested in independent bookings. Service in Eight over Eight was also poor. However, we still enjoyed the hotel as grounds are so lovely and we just loved the wine region.”

“Simply amazing. The whole experience from start to finish was superb. Lodges were beautiful and easiLy big enough for the 5 of is. Child care was excellent a was the food. The rangers and trackers just fabulous. A real highlight.”

“Loved the location and the house was really well equipped and the upstairs was fabulous. The house keeper, Eunice, was wonderful. My only gripe would be the pool area which didn't really get much sun meaning it was too cold for us to use much. However, it just meant we went to be the beach more which was fine as we all loved it. The one right by the house is perfect for small children as so safe without waves.”

“Again - simply amazing. We loved it there and it was a wonderful end to our trip. Stunning property and the staff were so friendly - particularly towards the children who absolutely loved it there. Lots for us all to do and the food was delicious.”
