Honeymoon to Tanzania

Andrea Clift & Colin Gallagher, 4th March 2017
Overall Rating:

We had such an incredible honeymoon in Tanzania. The safari in particular surpassed our wildest dreams -- it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Countries Visited

Tanzania

“With the help of the Mahlatini staff, we chose the best location at the best time. The Serengeti during the Great Migration gave us the most unbelievable opportunity to see so many animals. The bush + beach combo was absolutely perfect for an invigorating yet relaxing honeymoon. The locals were so incredibly friendly and we were pleasantly surprised to find almost everyone spoke English.”

Accommodation Visited

Lake Duluti Lodge

“Great accommodations and the perfect location for our transfer from Kilimanjaro to Arusha. We were there for less than 12 hours, but the staff was very welcoming and helpful.”

Sanctuary Kichakani Serengeti Camp

“What an incredible place! The accommodations were fantastic -- a true "glamping" experience with running water, turn down service and personal wake up calls with coffee! We were so happy with our decision to go with luxury tents over a lodge.

The staff was absolutely fantastic -- we were the only guests for the majority of our trip, that the team at Migration bent over backwards to make sure we were taken care of and enjoying our stay.”

Gold Zanzibar Beach House and Spa

“Gold was a really wonderful spot! Kendwa Beach really is the best on the island since it's relatively untouched by the tides. The staff at Gold really rolled out the red carpet for us on the honeymoon, offering complimentary sunset cruises, champagne in the room, a romantic dinner on the beach, etc. We enjoyed the all-inclusive option.

The only thing we might do differently is splitting up our time in Zanzibar between Gold and another hotel within Stone Town. Since Gold is 1 hr+ from town, and most of the excursions /day trips are based out of Stone Town, it made all the excursions SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive. I think the majority of our costs in Zanzibar were transportation to and from the resort. I would recommend 2-3 nights at Gold to enjoy a relaxing few days on the beach, then another 2 nights in Stone Town and organizing excursions from there.”

Staff Review

“Donna and the Mahlatini staff were absolutely *fantastic* to work with. She was incredibly responsive and delivered various itineraries that hit all our must-haves and were within the budget parameters. Donna was extremely knowledgeable about the area, and she was able to make changes quickly, even when we asked to safari in a whole different country. I would absolutely recommend Mahlatini to others looking for the best safari experts in the business!”
