Sharing an unfenced border with Kruger National Park, Kirkman's Kamp, with its spectacular views of the unspoilt wilderness and the Sand River, is regarded as one of the best loved lodges in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. A well-known historic camp, originally built in the early 1920's Kirkmans Kamp celebrates the atmosphere of an early South African lowveld homestead. The colonial atmosphere of gracious style and luxury has been retained, and guests step back in time upon entering the original homestead, which now houses the Lodge's sitting, bar and dining areas.
Surrounded by unspoilt wilderness, 18 guest cottages with private verandas, separate showers, free standing baths and air conditioning face incredible views where the light, sights and sounds transport you back in time. The area surrounding the lodge is world famous for its leopard sightings and renowed for having the best Big Five game viewing in the country.
5 hour drive on good roads from Johannesburg. Federal Air offers daily scheduled flights from Johannesburg International Airport to Skukuza Airstrip followed by a short drive to Kirkman's Kamp. The camp is also easily accessed from Kruger Mpumalanga Airport which is approximately a 2 hour drive from Kirkman's Kamp.
Twice-daily game-drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles and guided bush walks in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve.

Kirkman's Kamp was the perfect place to go on Safari and we had a great time! The entire staff was attentive and knowledgeable and we had the absolute best experience. The game watching was spectacular and the level of detail that each employee went to in order to ensure we had a good stay was impeccable. Our guide, tracker and the entire staff were amazing and the food was very…
Truly fabulous. Enjoyed slightly more than serondella as had dining for 2 and not with other guests. Plus found the location and bush more varied and more activities at Kirkmans (larger pool and tennis court). However enjoyed both places. Our Ranger, Gareth was truly exceptional and knowledgeable. A joy to learn from him about the Bush and the habitat and how the animals lived.
