Kirkman's Kamp

Sharing an unfenced border with Kruger National Park, Kirkman's Kamp, with its spectacular views of the unspoilt wilderness and the Sand River, is regarded as one of the best loved lodges in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. A well-known historic camp, originally built in the early 1920's Kirkmans Kamp celebrates the atmosphere of an early South African lowveld homestead. The colonial atmosphere of gracious style and luxury has been retained, and guests step back in time upon entering the original homestead, which now houses the Lodge's sitting, bar and dining areas.

Truly fabulous. Enjoyed slightly more than serondella as had dining for 2 and not with other guests. Plus found the location and bush more varied and more activities at Kirkmans (larger pool and tennis court). However enjoyed both places. Our Ranger, Gareth was truly exceptional and knowledgeable. A joy to learn from him about the Bush and the habitat and how the animals lived.

We can't rave enough about Kirkman's Kamp. The warmest staff made us feel like family, and we loved how they encouraged us to get to know other guests. It was a trans-formative experience and now our favorite hotel. The decor and 1920's setting with real artifacts from the past was incredible, the food exceeded all expectations, and the animals!! Saw the big 5 on our very first drive. Will tell…
