Tarkuni Homestead is one of 3 luxury safari lodges in South Africa’s Tswalu Private Wildlife Reserve, situated on the southernmost edge of the Kalahari. Tarkuni is a luxury private homestead for multi-generational families or parties of friends. It can accommodate up to 10 guests in 5 suites, all under one roof. A dedicated team including a host and private chef will take care of everything during your stay.

Designed to be sustainable and earth friendly the thatched homestead features a lounge and dining room, as well as upstairs library and spa treatment room. The bedrooms each have spacious bathrooms and private verandas. Outside is a shaded veranda around a water-wise plunge pool, a sundowner fire pit and a gazebo for massages or afternoon naps. Evenings will be spent having barbeque dinners in the intimate boma under the stars. Tswalu Reserve offers amazing opportunities for seeing the incredible desert-adapted black rhino, black-maned lions, cheetah, aardvark, brown hyena, and the elusive pangolin. Aside from the private game drives you will also get to enjoy meerkat encounters, nature walks, tracking, horse riding, stargazing, visiting ancient rock engravings and star-bed experiences.
