Discover Uga Jungle Beach

Uga Jungle Beach is a remote resort on a near-deserted beach on the island’s barely inhabited north-eastern coast. Perfect for seclusion seekers, you will sleep in castaway villas in the lush jungle. Kuchchaveli’s beach is generally swimmable year-round, and the main attractions are whale watching, snorkelling, and scuba diving. There is, however, plenty for culture vultures as well including Trincomalee town, a former Dutch colony, with plentiful historic sites.

The hotel is camouflaged from view by dense, green bush and its architecture and design embrace this, feeling like a luxurious treehouse. There are 3 cabin types, those facing the beach, the lagoon or fully immersed in the jungle. They are all private and secluded and have a spacious 650 square feet with private decks and outdoor rain showers (excluding the Lagoon Villas). The beach cabins access the beach via private sandy pathways through the scrub. Teak walkways lead you to the restaurant with a lagoon to one side and tables spilling onto the beach on the other. Dine on a light fusion of contemporary international and Asian flavours. The resort also features a jungle pool, gym and a spa which is set by the beach.
